Barlow Open Gardens Cancelled for 2020

Raising funds for St Lawrence, Barlow

Sunday 5th July, 2020 - Cancelled

10.00am to 5.00pm

We have had to come to a sad decision after days of agonising over what we should do.  This virus is not going away and everyone is nervous. We must keep everyone safe.
We looked on the RHS website and 7 out of 10 of their flower shows have been cancelled .  The 3 remaining have been postponed 'till September. It was suggested that we could postpone ours 'till September but we think people will still feel nervous about crowds of people visiting their gardens  and of course people might be nervous to come.
Therefore we have decided to cancel the event this year.
Our aim is to make next year’s event special with extra attractions.
We are sorry to cancel as this is such a special event, especially as we have all had so much time for gardening this year.  There isn’t a blade of grass out of place.
We wish to say a big thank you to all those who volunteered to open their gardens. It is such a wonderful and enjoyable event for the church and village.

However, we have a Virtual Tour of our 2020 Gardens:

Don't forget to switch to "Full Screen" view on YouTube.

2019

2019 was our 7th year of opening and the gardens ranged from small courtyards to allotments, large rambling gardens, an old hall, a hidden cottage with a mystical woodland walk and also a garden with a difference which is something special and had been in preparation for six months - it is interesting, themed, and we hope a delight for all visitors.
Tea, coffee and home made cakes were on sale at the church from 12.30pm. Home made refreshments, cream teas, ice creams, soft drinks and raffles at various gardens, also an art show. Transport ferry links to most gardens.

Proceeds to St. Lawrence Church Fund.
